Notes:

Legendary children's magazine programme (1958-present) presented by John Noakes, Peter Purves and Lesley Judd which included a pre-recorded behind the scenes item on preparations for It's A Knockout at Blenheim Palace. The item featured the Blue Peter presenters setting up and testing the games for the new series. Games designer Stuart Furber and safety supervisor Geoff Lomas were interviewed as part of the feature, which had a running time of 8 minutes and 44 seconds. The Blenheim Palace event was the first domestic heat of the 1973 series and was transmitted on BBC1 on Friday 18th May 1973. Bizarrely, the preview item exists at the BBC while the IAK edition itself does not...

Festive entry in the comedy series, The Goodies, starring Graeme Garden, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Bill Oddie. As the title implies, the plot takes its inspiration from the fairy tale, Jack and the Beanstalk. On their quest, the Goodies find themselves involved in a rather deadly game of Jeux Sans Frontières in Kathmandu, where pools of acid and other such nasties must be negotiated. The sequence features Eddie Waring and Arthur Ellis sending themselves up wonderfully. The programme - one of the best Goodies programmes - is available on DVD via the JSFnetUK Store.
